Food for Thoughts – Both for Authorians, Republicans and Democrats

Donald Trump and his team had an hidden allegiance with the Russians? And the coming months or so that will be fully exposed by the American media and Intelligence? True or false? Dazzling. What can I say, what can I think about such allegations? The phrase let the facts and the fact checkers do their work… comes easy to mind.

Here in Europe we tend to lay hands on evidence by merely logical thinking, why this, why that, because of what and so on. First an insight and then a disclosure…, a reading of a …'irrefutable' verdict. While Americans often boldly claim and assert things when they have clue’s in all kind of directions and on that base starts investigations on the matter. But like all humain beings on Earth Americans can also be partial towards somebody or something. It's important to keep that in mind as well.

And then when we look to Russia and his leader Vladimir Putin, is that realy the embodiment of an Evil Empire and a pure Authorian State? Putin is no saint. No way. But for me it seemes to easy to label him and his followers as simply totally evil and corrupt. Does he has blood on his hands? That’s likely I suppose. Are there reliable documentaries about this person uploaded on the internet? For me this question is diffcult to answer. I don’t know, that means I am not sure on that. Take the following short documentary for instance: How Putin Is Transforming Russia (Youtube). It’s made recently by a seemingly average American guy, a geek.

Sean Hannity, television host of Fox News, known for his strong support for the Trump Administration, yesterday rejects firmly the allegations against Jeff Sessions, Attorney General of the United States. Is Hannity right on this issue or not?

Democrats and republicans are in a kind of war with each other at the moment. Truth or dare war games on a political and economical level. The future direction of America is at stake. Together with Great Britain right now they are showing the world a kind of mirror. Certain Shakespeare Themes come fully alive in present Anglo-Saxon politics.

I close this column, this blog, with a quote from a lecture given by the anthroposophist Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925). He pointed out a regular shift between democratic and authorian tendencies in living societies. Food for thoughts.

Lecture: Social and Antisocial Instincts
Place and time: Dornach, Schwiss; 6th December, 1918
Speaker: Rudolf Steiner
“[…] Let us assume that the ideal of community life in a state is a democracy, but, should this be introduced anywhere, in its last phase it would inevitably bring about its own destruction. The tendency of democracy is inevitably such that, when the democrats are together, one is always endeavoring to overcome the other; the one always wishes to have his way against the other. This goes without saying. Transferred into the realm of reality, a democratic order leads to the opposite side. There is no other possibility in life. Democracies will always, after a certain length of time, die as the result of their own democratic nature. These are things that are of enormous importance for an understanding of life. […]”

'Evil Empires'

Make no excuses for irony. Why should you?

What can grin in my face and take the hell out of me? What faces death and will survive? What lure my belongings in a belonging way? Do I feel comfortable enough, save and secure for the rest of my life, or will I get smashed the very next time I wake up again? Maybe it’s better that I close my eyes for an refreshing eternal sleep? For a Great Unadventurous Adventure? To be or not to be is still the question? Or rather nowadays:

"To become or not to become?"

Questionable I’m a man of questions. I look around and see at this moment at a national level many elections are going on. Nearby or in the aftermath of that. Europe is in a turmoil. So called united to make far fetched dreams come true. In reality she’s strongly divided. On the one hand in a distinguished way, on the same time European nations stare to each other with hollow eyes, far centred anyway, …mentaly poor and weak. Poor and weak? Shame on you! Donnot frame the European Union! The United States of Europe!

America is in a hurry and in denial. Very serious internal conflicts. What’s the Real America, what will Make America Greath Again or at Last!? And England as always is fighting for independence. Not only for yesterday of course but for many days still to come. Multiplied Independend Days. Like Churchill once said: 'We will never surrender!'

Like I said in my first message on this blog: These are the days my friend… You hope they never end? Well they will. They will… Eventually we all put out to sleep.

Kiss of Death

What to do with brainwaves of rather aggressive nature, with a more or less violent attitude to the inner self? Block them or get entangled by it? I choose for an alternative approach: clean observation with vigilant attention.

The following thought, inspiration, temptation or threat crossed my mind on Tuesday evening, Januari 31, 2017.

Night Kiss
It doesn’t matter which way you are going. Let the roaring animals rise! Let them flame into your heart. Let them eat your soul food fiercely and endless. Let them grow and shine untill you fall apart and vanish… You Little Writer. You Scum!

Thank You Mister Anonymous. I'm a treat for someone? A stand in the way or a tool for certain creatures? I can imagine that... Really!

Poem
Do Not Go To Gentle into that Good Night- Dylan Thomas

Do Not Go To Gentle into that Good Night
By Dylan Thomas
Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Introduction

These are the days…? Strange things are happening. That’s for sure. Sometimes opportunity knocks. Accidentally on purpose? What do I know, what can I recognize or distinguish as a Dutch guy entering the Anglo-Saxon World? Time will tell. Things will fall into place.

Maybe virtual interaction with English speaking people occasionally will occur. They can respond to my blogs for all kind of reasons and as they wish I can tell them some things about more specific European subjects, themes and problems. I’m willing to do that.

Certainly I love the English tongue. Dutch is my first language. German texts I mostly read for scientific, spiritual and artistic reasons. And English texts I love to write because it's such an expressive and accurate language.
